Answer #1

COVID-19 is caused by noval corona virus and it effects the respiratory system and make it difficult for breathing. The outbreak has occurred in November 2019, from then it has been spreading to the worls and was stated as pandemic by WHO in March of 2020.

In the usual process the development of vaccine against virus include

  • identifying the infectious protein part of virus
  • determining weather mutation is possible in that protein
  • synthesising specific target toxic molecules for those proteins
  • making sure that such protein analogues are not present in hosts (human)
  • preclinical studies in laboratory animals to determine any toxicity
  • clinical studies in humans as 3 phases in which safety, efficacy, both safety and efficacy are determined in those phases respectively.
  • After the all phases if still found productive released into market
  • If the product is not up to expected results, similar analogues are synthesised and again preclinical and clinical studies are performed until required productivity is achieved

Similarly the COVID-19 vaccine is being developed in many countries and in most countries it is in phase 3 clinical trails (Russia has recently passed phase 3 and made it available)

After the effective vaccine was found now a mass manufacturing is needed to distribute to the entire country which will require around 6 months.

Will all these taking into cosideration it will take up to mid 2021 to end COVID-19

**soon it will all end and we will be normal again ;) **
