Explanation: Before picking up blood patient should be ready for transfusion . normally red blood cell is transfused after picking up within 30 minutes or maximum within 4 hours.if it is not transfused within 4 hours it is returned in blood bank. Albumin products can be transfused within 24 hours.It should be handed over to the registered nurse so that chances of wrong transfusion be minimized. Because wrong transfusion can lead to serious complications to the patient. Thus ,after picking up the blood, transfusion should not be delayed.
