  • The sensor for apnea detection is a thermal flow sensor at the nose and mouth (oronasal thermal sensor). If the thermal signal is inadequate, the NP signal may be used. The recommended sensor for hypopnea detection is NP with or without a square root transformation. If the NP signal is inadequate, either the oronasal thermal signal or the RIP signal (calibrated or uncalibrated) may be used.
