Chickenpox

It is a highly contagious infection caused by the varicella-zoster virus. It mainly affects kids, but also adults can get it. It is super-itchy and errupt with red rashes on skin .

Symptoms begin within 10 to 21 days after one have been in contact with someone who has infected. Most people recover in about 2 weeks.

You’re at high risk for chickenpox if you:

- never had the virus before

- never vaccinated for it

- a job in a school or child care facility

- stay with children

Prevention with vaccines

  1. a first shot in 12–15 months old children
  2. booster shot when they're 4–6 years old.
