Why is physical activity important for young people? Using evidence-based strategies described in the text, how would you promote physical activity into your classroom or program setting? Using physical activity as punishment and taking away physical activity and/or recess as punishment goes against many district wellness policies and is subverts efforts to promote a healthy classroom. What would you do in your classroom or program setting instead?

Answer: Physical activity plays major role in maintaining health of a person. It increases the blood circulation and also increases the efficiency of the body to reduce the development of the chronic disease. Some of the strategies through which physical activities can be indulge in the classroom are:

• Providing sufficient knowledge about the benefits of the physical activities.
• Encourage students to at least perform sit and up during the class.
• Encourage students to participate in the outdoor games.

Punishment should not be considered as the way of the physical activities promotion. This could produce poor impact on the students. It's better to indulge students in the games for sometimes. This will improve the indulgence of the physical activities in the student. Outdoor games suchnas football, basketball etc increases the involvement of a person in physical activities.
