A tumor is not considered cancer, is slow-growing, and does not spread or invade surrounding tissues is called what?
Answer:-
Such tumours are called as "BENIGN TUMOUR".
Benign tumors are non-malignant/non-cancerous tumor. A benign tumor is usually localized, and does not spread to other parts of the body. Most benign tumors respond well to treatment. However, if left untreated, some benign tumors can grow large and lead to serious disease because of their size.
Benign tumour has 2 parts:-
1) ‘Parenchyma’ comprised by proliferating
tumour cells;
parenchyma determines the nature and evolution of the
tumour.
2) ‘Supportive stroma’ composed
of fibrous connective tissue and blood vessels; it provides the
framework on which the parenchymal tumour cells grow.
