-ask the patient to maintain hygiene all the time by washing the hands thoroughly with soap and water before starting the feeding.
- during the feeding and after the feeding the make the patient to situp for 1 hour.
- check the tube before feeding whether it is in place by using empty syringes.
-put the empty syringe in to the end of the tube and pull back the syringe to withdraw the stomach conent.
-clean the area around the tube with soap and water and dry the area after bathing.and keep the area dry always.
-call the health care provider right away if the tube is out.
-flush the tube after and before each feeding.
