Mary Jane Grant was a born in 1805 in Jamaica. She cared for the wounded soldiers and officers during Crimean War and established a British Hotel at Balaclavato nurse the wounded. For her tremendous contributions to public health and evidence based practice, she was later named as the Mother Seacole. She treted patients with cholera and other bowel diseases.In the year 1857, she published her memoir Wonderful Adventures of Mrs Seacole in Many Lands.She used trial and error in her treatment of various conditions and later explained her shortcomings.
