- Severe anemia

- pallor, yellow skin

- Microcytic, hypochromic red blood cells

- Enlarge spleen and liver

- Frontal bossing

- Maxillary prominence

- Wide set eyes

- Fatigue or growth retardation

Treatment -

- Blood transfusion is a good option for this type of patient because of low oxyhemoglobin level.

- Chelation therapy with deferoxamine for remove of excess iron, give as prescribed by physician.

- Administer folic acid supplements.

- Consult with the patient for spleenectomy.

- Stem cell transplantation is also best treatment for this type of disorder.

- Teaching the patient for receiving about pneumococcal vaccine.

- Consult for genetic counselling.
