Performing the laboratory testing at or near the patient bedside. These tests are usually performed by non-laboratory personnel.

Quality assurance at the POCT

  1. Make sure that the reliability of the test system and must follow the regulatory requirements.
  2. Testing the proficiency of the personnel
  3. Calibration and Calibration verification and regular maintenance of equipment
  4. Performance and monitoring of the quality assurance
  • Check thoroughly the proper functioning of the instrument and has been accurately calibrated.
  • Reagents used for testing are stable and reacting appropriately
  • Make sure the testing methodology is being performed accurately.
