Question

which of these events occurs during the lag( latent) phase of muscle contraction

which of these events occurs during the lag( latent) phase of muscle contraction

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Answer; Calcium binds to troponin

Reason ; During the phases of muscular contraction, the first lag phase begin by the process of depolarization or we can say it is stimulated by some of stimulus leads to action potential, which results in the calcium ion get released and binds to the above mentioned molecule to led the contraction phase occurs, while cross bridge not occur in lag phase rather it take place in contraction phase. Therefore the above mentioned events is the appropriate one take place in these phase.

Place the following events in the correct order they occur during excitation-contraction coupling in skeletal muscle: Myosin forms a tight bond with actin and undergoes the ‘power stroke’. The troponin/tropomyosin complex shifts, exposing the myosin binding sites on the actin filament. Ca2+ binds to troponin. Ca2+ moves out of the sarcoplasmic reticulum (called a “calcium spark”).
