What would you do? A hospitalized patient has a medical condition that you suffered yourself six months ago but the patient isn’t aware of this. He asks if you have any idea what he can expect from his treatment plan.
I would explain to the patient about the disease condition, its symptoms, diagnosis and treatment measures that will be taken. I would also tell him that I had the same condition six months back and have gone through all this. This makes the patient feel that he/she is not suffering from this condition alone and seeing a live example makes the patient confident that he/she will go through this tough time. This gives the patient required psychological support. Explaining the patient about the treatment gives him proper knowledge and he/she will cooperate during the treatment procedure.
Thank you.
