ANS I Scientific Information about COVID -19

It is a virus that causes disease in mammals and birds. But in human, this disease cause respiratory infections, Corona virus constitute the family Ortho - Corona virus. The major symtoms of disease are fever , dry cough, tiredness , difficulty or shortness of breath , chest pain etc.

a. INFORMATION -. Outbreak of Corona begun in Wuhan China , and the cases started in December 2019 .However , it remains unclear exactly how the virus spread to human. Many Health experts believe that the new strain   of Corona virus originated in bats or pangolins

b. TRANSMISSION - The disease is transmitted between humans through direct contact or indirectly through objects like contaminated objects or surfaces and also  If a person have close contact with infected people.

c. TESTING THE VIRUS -. Various types of tests are done

- Swab test - Swab is used to take a sample from nose or throat .

-. Nasal aspirate - Saline solution will be injected into your nose , then a sample is taken with light suction.

- Blood test

- Sputum test

- Tracheal Aspirate -. A thin tube with a torch , is put into mouth to reach lungs from where a sample is collected.

d. PREVENTION - Cleaning hands very often , with soap and water .

-. Social distancing and wearing masks.

-. Maintain social distance

- Stay home

- Seek medical assistance if one have fever , cough etc.

e. TREATMENT - There are no specific vaccines or medicines for Corona virus . Treatment are under investigation.

-. Personal Gathering -. All churches ,temples , schools, colleges are being closed where people gather social activities and people are bound to remain alone.

- Psychological Impact - Increase in suicide due to severe  unemployment , fear etc . negative effects on mental health of older adults , stress, aggressive are also found to be increased.

- Increase in domestic violence .

ANS 3. AFFECT IN GLOBAL ECONOMY

1. Increase in unemployment , financial crisis.

2. Decrease in prices of commodities like agricultural products

.3. Decrease in prices of petroleum and crude oil.

4. Nationwide closure of educational institutions and many new policies are being introduced for improving Education facilities.

5. Reduction in GDP and decline in turnover and sales of industrial sector.
