Nurses go above and beyond patient care many times in many ways. It can be as small as delaying going to the rest room, to skip meal break, volunteering to take a patient out of facility so that patient may attend as family celebration such as a wedding for a few hours, to attend a funeral. As a nurse I too remember times that I went above and beyond patient care. A child who was diagnosed with ALL got admitted to hospital, while admission I noticed his birthday, which falls on the same week. I arranged a birthday party for him on his birthday and cut cake. He was so happy. This was one incident that I worked beyond and above patient care
