how does the body absorb, metabolize, and secrete alcohol

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Answer: As soon as the alcohol is consumed, it is absorbed by the blood from the stomach as well as the intestine. Alcohol is mainly absorbed in the small intestine. Near about 80% of alcohol is being absorbed in the small intestine whereas, 20% of alcohol already gets absorbed in the stomach before reaching further to the small intestine. The alcohol is carried out by the blood, so it reaches to the heart, lungs, as well as brain comparatively equal to all the organs.

The metabolism of the alcohol takes place in the liver. The chemical enzymes present in the liver, breaks down the other chemical and metabolize the alcohol. The alcohol is then secreated by the liver and most of the amount unchanged are secreated through urine, sweat as well as breathe.

Which of the following scenarios best describes how cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is produced? CSF is continually produced by pia mater and secreted onto surface of brain. Neurons of gray matter absorb electrolytes from fenestrated capillaries and secrete CSF into arachnoid granulations. Ependymal cells of a choroid plexus absorb fluid from fenestrated capillaries and secrete CSF into ventricle lumen. Astrocytes absorb fluid that leaks through endothelial cells and secrete CSF into subarachnoid space.
