Managed care policies are the policies which  are used to provide Health care facilities at low cost , providing health insurance and improving the quality of health care in United States, implemented in 1980's.

IMPLICATIONS

1. COST CONTAINMENT - It lower rates of medical tests which were expensive, inpatient hospitalization etc. Thus , it has become more attractive to public agencies and Improve the health care facilities

2. DEVELOPMENT OF SPECIALITY NETWORKS -. It manages the behavioural health care facilities and Improves the quality of care for individuals with behavioural health problem. This increases the development of care specialised care facilities for disease like cancer , substance abuse etc.

3. IMPROVING STANDARDS-. It has increased efficiency,set certain standards, for improving the quality of health care . Emphasis on preventive care including wellness incentives and patient education , Implementing many review and quality Improvement program including disease management and care management
