Explain the reason behind developing different forms of Monoclonal antibodies (chimeric MABs,
humanized MABs, and fully human MABs)
Monoclonal antibodies are formed when exposing an antigen to a mouse and then fusing the poluconal cells from the mouses spleen to myeloma cells. The hybridoma cells thus formed are cultured and produce antibodies to the antigen.
The spleen cells are fused with human cancerous white blood cells that is myeloma to form the hybridoma cells which multiply indefinitely. These hybridoma cells produce millions of monoclonal antibodies.
Hybridoma cells can be grown indefinitely in any suitable culture medium. It can also be injected into the peritoneal cavity of mice. Then there produces tumors secreting an antibody rich fluid.
