Vital signs: temp, 38.5º C; pulse, 114 bpm; resp, 32 breaths/min; blood pressure, 104/62 mm Hg

Urine analysis is positive for white blood cells (WBCs), nitrites, and blood.

The risk factors for UTI in the child can be

• Not emptying the bladder fully
• Female child
• Having history of constipation
• If the child holds the urine

Some of the things which can help Lilly from recurrent UTI are

• The child emptying the bladder fully ,not holding the urine
• Administration of complete antibiotic course to the child
• Encourage to drink adequate water ,liquids
• Cran berry juice can be provided to the child
• Proper perineal hygiene

The action which has to be taken are

• Administration of medication as per order to treat infection and reduce elevated body temperature
• Provide adequate fluid to neutralize the urine
• Make the child to void completely when feeling bladder full.
