Answer: It becomes difficult to maintain proper hygiene in the case of highly dependent aged patients. There are many reasons or the factors which could lead to spread the infection or becomes hurdle in eliminating the risk of the infection.

  • The maintenance of the regular hand hygiene for the aged patients becomes difficult. Bacteria or the virus can easily transmitted through hands to all the body parts even the eyes. The hand hygiene practice can prevent spread of the infection.
  • To instruct the patient becomes challenging. The spread of the infection can be controlled by taking certain precautions. But in the case of old aged patient, it becomes difficult. Preventing the eyes by not touching eye or face frequently could reduce the risk. But in older patient, it becomes difficult to guide them.
