How do you break down the two terms Abduct and Adduct, so you will always know the meaning?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The simplest way to break down the two terms Abduct and Adduct, is by remembering that adduct is made up of "Add" which means to sum up two things by bringing it closure to each other. Hence adduction means movement of the body part (like) closure to the midline of the body.

To remember the meaning of abduct, we must understand that "abduction" means kidnapping or take away. So abduct can be defined as the movement of the body part away from the midline of the body.
