A patient will be upset ,tensed while awaiting the diagnosis .

This time nurse as a care giver should try to provide comfort to the patient by giving him or her psychological support . During this period she can explain her the reasons for diagnostic interventions.

Nurse can provide music therapy during this period. Nurse should be an active listener. Spiritual talks can also give patient psychological support.

Explaning diagnostic procedures, answering all her questions and introducing patient with another patien who has already gone through same diagnosis, can give patient comfort.

Nurse's behaviour should be supportive to support the patient emotionally .
