Answer: The Phosphodiesterase inhibitors are used in the treatment of the pulmonary hypertension as well as in erectile dysfunction. They work by inhibiting the cGMP which is the specific isoform 5 of phosphodiesterase. This causes reduction in the muscular tone.

The high risk drug need to be monitored after the administration, due to slight changes in the dose, it may cause adverse effects. This drug is considered to have major risk or may have severe effects on the patient. It may cause cardiac inotropy up to extent. Nasal congestion could lead to reduced oxygen supply to the lungs and heart. It may increase the risk of other diseases such as anterior optic neuropathy.
