(fractured hip, ORIF). Since she live alone on second floor she was unable to return home.
She is extremely agitated over her placement there and demonstrates early signs of dementia.
She tells the therapist ,” leave me alone, I just wan to get out of here”.

What approach would be best in this scenario?

• In order to reduce the danger of delirium, orient the client often and make her move out of the mattress shortly as possible.
• Never argue whether they are in the hospital or at home.
• Attempt distracting the unpleasant conversation.

Long term Goals

• Limiting pain following surgery
• Speedy mobilization for recovery of function and movements.
• Prevent delirium
• Bring back to health within little time, to surgery

Short term Goals

• Proper orientation to place, person and time.
• The lessor or no complications
• Support the hip
• Reduction of pain by temporary measures
