Amish community came into existence in the sixteenth century .They immigrated to the US in between 17th and 18th century .They lead a very simple life. Some of the activities which is followed on their culture in regards to health to take preventive care and treatment body as a gift of God. They wish the family members to be a part of the care. The nurse should engage the family members in the treatment regimen, explain all the procedure and gain consent from the head of the family. They accept most of the modern medicine but only when it is useful for them .They do not accept any treatment based on the necessities of others. It is the duty of the nurses to ensure their socioeconomic status to am extent on the basis of humanity because most of them do not have an insurance and pay out of pocket for the services received.
