Explain why community health assessment is an important tool to ensure that a community nurse evaluates all the available community resources.

Community is a very vast area from where the patient comes for health care needs .So it is necessary to assess the population in the community for their health status periodically and regularly .The community nurse plays a very crucial role to evaluate all the available resources to identify the problems of the population in a specific community or a group. This tool enables to identify the outbreak of any new illness ,malnutrition in children and pregnant women ,overall health status of the people from newborn to elderly population .The nurse can then assess for the available resources in the community to tackle the problems and meet patient needs. In case of any shortages the nurse will report to the concerned higher authority and ensure the demand is met. Thus finally ensuring that the community is healthier and free of any ailments.
