Eithoven's triangle-It is formed around the heart. It is formed during electrocardiography by imaginary formation of inverted equilateral triangle like shape while placing three leads;two around shoulders and one near pubic. The heart seems to be at the center.
This triangle helps in finding out incorrect placement of leads which can lead to error in recording.
This contains placement of lead I,lead II and lead III.
Lead I- Placing negative electrode on right shoulder and positive electrode of left shoulder. Lead I- LA-RA Gives 0 degree angle of orientation.
Lead II- placing negative shoulder and positive on leg.Gives 60 degree of orientation.
LEAD III-Gives 120 degree of orientation.
These leads help in measuring the electric field created during the depolarisation and repolarisation of heart.
It is based on a theory given by Willem Eithoven who invented ECG.
