· PRINCIPLE ONE: reducing the risk of harm to a minimum level for the subjects of research

· PRINCIPLE TWO: ensuring informed consent.

· PRINCIPLE THREE: Protecting the anonymity i.e. privacy and confidentiality of the subject

· PRINCIPLE FOUR: Avoiding practices based on deception

· PRINCIPLE FIVE: Providing the subject the right to withdraw at any point during the research
