every organisation has its own policies, which are guidelines that define the organisations standpoint on course of action. like other members of health care system ,nurses are also responsible to follow the policies and procedures of the organisation which he or she working. even though we nurses are providing individualised patient care , the organisational policies has a great impact and influences in nursing services. good and well defined policies can help the nurses in followig ways ;

*provide guidence, standardization and consistency in practice.

* ensure highest , safest, best level of patient care.

*help to avoid practice variation.

*help to take appropriate decision regarding patient care.

*if the nurse practices according to the organisation polices , he or she minimizes the potential for liability.
