In this module’s Assignment, you will draft a formal paper expressing your personal philosophy of nursing paper. In this paper, you will provide a framework for your personal practice of nursing and reflect on why you chose nursing as a profession. Your paper will define how you interact with patients, family members, other nurses, and other health care professionals.

Nursing profession is the ever difficult profession among the professions. It is a noble profession which deals with the preventive, promotive and curative care of patients with various diseases.

• Nurses are the angels who are supposed to provide holistic care (considering an individual as whole )for thier patients.
• Working as a nurse requires good commitment and a service mind and kind personality to overcome any kind of situation during the time of patient care.
• As we all know studying nursing is a 4 year course which requires hardwork as well as a student should go through ever difficult situations such as sleepless nights, unable to eat at time etc as they will be more focusing on their requirements to be completed at the correct time.
• Also it has got practical as well as theory classes to be attended mandatory. It needs 80% of attendance in theory and practical to enroll in the tests provided by the university.
• After the completion of the course the novice nurse ( a new nurse who just entered to job after her studies ) is prepared to care for her patients. Initially she or he will seek the help from her senior nurses to do some procedures, eg. IV cannulation.
• After being an expert in this one can do each and every procedure without any difficulty.
• But when it comes about ourself, we nurses usually do not get enough time to take rest in our duty hours. Sometimes we don't even get a time to drink a cup of water but we will be running here and there for making our patients well satisfied.
• I choose nursing as my profession because I always inspired with the life of Florence Nightingale who is known as the founder of modern nursing. Also I liked to serve humanity and I always wish to serve suffering people with kind heart and patience.
• It is necessary to maintain good IPR ( interpersonal relationship ) with the clients during their care inorder to get their satisfaction with our care.
• Patients need full hand support and they are much demanding for what they pay when they gets hospitalized. So a nurse must maintain good IPR as well as patience while caring their clients.
• Patients will tell their problems and needs to a nurse only if the nurse is ready to hear their issues and needs also only if the nurse is available for them at that moment they want. So we should not be in a hurry with our clients. We have to schedule our paperworks and should manage our time to be with our patients more.
• It is also necessary to gain acceptance from the family members of the clients. At times we need their help in caring our patients. For eg. For a bedridden patient a nurse must need the help of another person or a family member to change the dress of the patient or to change the bed cover. So she gets the help from the family member only if she maintains good communication with them.
• Another major thing is to maintain unity among the group that is within the nurses. Nurses should maintain good IPR together then only they will be able to provide quality care for their patients. While taking over and giving over to the next staff in the next shift of thier work they should clearly explain the details of the patients, patient's progress etc.
• Nurses also need the help of other health care members to provide quality care to their patients. They are doctors, physiotherapists, health care assistants, lab technicians etc.
• For eg. A nurse calls lab technician to get the blood results of her patients. Likewise she calls a physiotherapist for providing physiotherapy etc.
• Thus it is a nurse's ability to maintain good relations with the health care members for the care of their clients.

Note : There is no other profession equal to nursing. This is a profession which we can work together as a team to provide better care for our patients and thereby improve their health.
