Nursing Responsibilities to the care
of the patient with Rhabdomyolysis:
Symptoms should be
monitored:
- Muscle pain
- Nausea
- Tenderness
- Weakness
Physical
examination:
- Dark colored urine
- Vomiting
- Temperature changes
- Edema and Skin changes.
Nursing
Interventions:
- Ensure fluid resuscitation.
- Treatment should be initiated as
soon as possible that is expansion of extracellular volume.
- Urine output and input should be
monitored if oliguria is present preferred dialysis to patient for
treatment.
- Insert catherization if their was
any problem in urination and prevent infection.
- Monitor laboratory reports that
helps to take better patient care that is Serum or urine
pH,bicarbonate and electrolyte level.
- Monitor for compartment syndrome
because of muscle injury.
