explain in detail the difference between innate immunity and adaptive immunity

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Fighting against infection is necessary for all human beings .This is naturally done by the immune system of the body .It can be categorized into two namely innate immunity and acquired immunity

Innate immunity is present naturally in the body right from the birth. This stops the invasion of microorganisms entering into the body .This is the first line of immune defense. If this fails the disease causing agent enters the inner body . After this the natural immunity like white blood cells in the body reacts and destroys the antigen .The innate immune organs is skin others are tears, enzymes gastric juices, WBC ,etc.,

Adaptive immunity or acquired immunity is produced by the body after the invasion of an antigen and it is destroyed .Here the T cells and the B cells are produced and it destroys the antigen. The antibody which is produced during this time is remembered by this immune system to attack same type of antigen in future and provide immunity.

Adaptive immunity has several features that distinguish it from innate immunity. Specificity in that each adaptive immune response is induced by a particular antigen, or surface feature that generates an antibody. An innate immune response might be stimulated by a PAMP, while an adaptive immune response is stimulated by a single feature of a bacteria. In addition, cells of adaptive immunity, B and T cells, are allowed to proliferate under certain conditions to mount a defense, this feature is clonality...
