Physical therapist is a trained allied health science professional who helps treat chronic and acute pain, movement disorders, respiratory problems and various other diseases through therapeutic exercises, electrical stimulation, physical agents such as heat and cold.
Physical therapist not only helps in curing diseases but also helps in health promotion and disease prevention. Physical therapist encourages public to exercise regularly which helps in keeping the body and mind healthy. Exercises helps in improving the cardiorespiratory endurance, strength, power and flexibilty. Regular exercises have been proved to reduce risk of many cardiovascular diseases, obesity, diabetes.
Physical therapy also help strength the bones and muscles and prevent musculoskeletal disorders.
Physical therapist also plays an important part in rehabilitation of patients. They help prevent impairment and disability in people with severe diseases. Physical therapist works in colloboration with other healthcare professional and family to help improve the quality of life of patients.
