Pre

• Explain the procedure to the patient
• Describe about the need of the procedure
• Clarify any doubts to gain cooperation during procedure

Intra

• Place patient in comfortable position
• Apply tourniquet ,clean with antiseptic solution and proceed by doing an aseptic pricking and collection in the designated vacutainer tube (EDTA)
• Label the tube appropriately
• Discard wastes
• Hand washing

Post

• Place patient in comfortable position
• Documentation

Interpretation finding

It can reveal the WBC ,RBC platelets ,morphology of the blood cells
