The patient needs the following to be doneto evaluate the problem

  • X ray (shoulder,neck) to evaluate for bursitis, rotator cuff tear, herniated disc in neck , tendinitis
  • Physical examination to assess range of motion in arms
  • Assessing reflex to rule out nerve injury

The members of the interdisciplinary team here should be a primary provider, orthopedician, occupational therapist

The role of OTA here are

  • To determine the working lifestyle of the patient and planning care accordingly
  • Teaching the adjustment which has to be done in the work practice
  • Physical therapy or physiotherapy has to be planned
