What are independent and dependent variables
Answer. When an experiment is run, the variables which can be changed, altered or manipulated, are called independent variables. These measures are the cause and are independent among other variables.
The dependent variables are the fixed measures of the experiment which are the effects of changes in independent variables.
For example, in the course of growing a plant, the independent variables could be the type of light, temperature, humidity, etc in which the plant is grown under. And it effects are shown in dependent variables by showing the rate of growth of plant with above mentioned variables.
For example, while administrations of medicines or while providing different treatment methods (as independent variables) on different groups will affect the results (dependent variables) or the outcomes on the patients.
