Are the characteristics described in this chapter consistent or inconsistent with your experience/perception of Latino/a culture? Which ones was surprising, and why?

Answer: The perception of the Latino/a culture and their characteristics includes :

  • They have depth of the interpersonal relationship. They nuture their relationship.
  • They give respect to their family members and relatives.
  • Family members plays their own role such as father is responsible for the financial status and economical needs whereas mother has self denial factors. Grandparents provides wisdom.

These characteristics were consistent with the information provided and with my experiences. The one of the thing that was surprising that cooperation among family members were little difficult. As family members stressed themselves.
