Family nursing is an art and a science that have evolved towards the last 20 years as a way of thinking about and working with families.

It is a care/service provided to the family members of the prevention, promotion and maintaince of physical, mental spiritual health and social members, irrespective of age and sex.

It also helps to foster a strong relationship between nurse and the family and as well as among family members. It focus on the whole family not particular any person.

There are some basic principles in family nursing :

1. Dignity and respect

2. Information shearing

3. Perticipation of the all family members

4. Collaboration

Family nursing is a basis on working " With" family ,rather than just doing "too or for them ".
