What is the purpose of the systems framework? Name and define the main elements of the systems framework.

U.S Healthcare System

      Health system is intended to deliver health services. Example: planning, determining priorities, mobilizing and allocating resources, translating policies into services evaluation and health education. U.S Healthcare System includes hospitals,nursing homes,specialized care facilities,independent practices and partnership facilities.

Components of health system

1. Concepts (eg: health and diseases)

2. Ideas (eg: Equity, coverage, effectiveness, efficiency, impact)

3. Objects (eg: hospitals, health centres, health programmes)

4. Persons (eg: providers and consumers)

Levels of health care

Aim of the health system is health development. A process of continous and progressive improvement of the health status of a population. The goal is to achieve health for all.

1. Primary health care: This is the first level of contact between individual and health system where essential health care is provided.

2. Secondary health care: Here more complex problems are dealt with. This care comprises essentiallly curative services and is provided by district hospitals and community health centres.

3. Tertiary health care: This level offers super-specialist care. This care is provided by regional or central level institutions which provides highly specialised care and also planning and managerial skills and teaching for specialized staff. It supports and complements the action carried out at the primary level.

Framework of health care system

       Framework of the health care system is to maintain healthcare quality. A patient centered health care system should understand the challenges in the health care system.

health education is the major component of health care system. By providing education to public helps to prevent and control the health problems.

2. Promotion of food supply and proper nutrition.

Proper nutrition is the second important component of health care. It helps to prevent malnutrition, starvation and to prevent many diseases and afflictions.

3. An adequate supply of safe water and proper nutrition

Clean and safe drinking water and basic sanitation can improve the health of the population also reduces or eliminates many preventable diseases.

4. Maternal and child health care, including family planning

It is necessary to ensure comprehensive and adequate health care to children and mother. WHO helps future generations by giving care for those who has higher health problems. Care also includes adequate counseling on family planning and safe sex.

5. Immunization againset infectious diseases

By providing immunization helps to prevent major infectious diseases thus improve the health of the public.

6. Prevention and control of endemic diseases

It is critical to promote health care in a population. Many diseases varied based on locations. By providing initiate measures helps to prevent diseases and also reduces the infection rate.

7. Appropriate treatment of common diseases and injuries

Appropriate medical care is another important component of health care system.

8. Provision of essential drugs.

Essential drugs helps to prevent diseases which helps the community safer so that there is less chance of escalating.
