In the case of the nursing theory such as the the Orem theory can be implemented in the case of the osteoporosis. The major concern of the Orem's nursing theory is that is enables the nurses to implement the methods of self dependence as well as self care among patients. It also improves the efficiency and build the self esteem among patients suffering from osteoporosis.

Osteoporosis is a condition where the bone becomes weak due to deficiency of calcium and vitamin D.The major risk factors includes improper diet, poor nutrition, chronic disease etc.

Hence the nurse by indulging the Orem's theory in the nursing practice by:

• Encouraging patients to have proper nutrition.
• Encourage patient to increase the intake of calcium.
• Educate patient about the self care process such as getting phototherapy, being in sunlight.
