What have you done to prepare for college? Continuing or Returning Students Answer: *Being that this the first full-term semester with a pandemic I would like you to reflect as you begin FALL 2020: What do you imagine this semester to be like? What have you done to prepare for this semester?
I will answer this question from the perspective of a new student but it can also be somewhat relate with that of a returning student.
First of all it is quite clear that during this fall 2020, all the colleges are going to prioritize the health and safety of the whole collage community. For Fall 2020, what we can expect is more of an affordable, hygenic and personalized college environment for all new and existing students. May be the quarter will start a little late as compared to the previous years as the administration and collage staff will take some time to make the necessary changes post pandemic. Most of the course and programs are expected to a combination of remote and in-person instruction while the others can be completely remote. In fact the activities that need masses to carry out like lectures, workshops and seminars are most likely to be conducted remotely or with minimum strength or with proper social distancing.
Most of the communication in the educational institute are going to be on some digital program like Zoom, phone and via email. All the operation in the Fall 2020 will be according to the safety guidelines of the government specially the concept of social distancing, use of mask and other face protective equipments in the campus as well as outside the gate of the building, regular morning check ups of COVID health verification, regular cleaning with infection control measures and other safety plans. Student, teachers or any other staff member with a symptoms of flu or fever will be asked to get themselves home quarantine for 14 days.
Though this is totally a new situation so I don not have any special preparation but yes, I have taken some important things in my bag to ensure my health and hygiene in the collage. I have taken small bottles of hand sanitizer for classes, thermometer to check my temperature time to time, set of mask, hand gloves, a couple of medicines to boost my immunity. I have downloaded some apps on my smart phone that will keep me updated about the infected people in my surrounding and lastly I have withdrawn my form to get a shared room in the campus hostal and I am going to take a separate place to put up at least for a couple of semesters till the things are under control.
