Two external factors that may impede or facilitate implementation of a proposed technology are:

1. Poor or inadequate infrastructure: Most Nursing schools do not have adequate required infrastructure such as computer, wireless communication systems, and internet and skilled profession to operate the system.

2. Social and cultural barriers: lack of stakeholder’s interest, less motivation, resistance to adapt and use new technology as they are more comfortable with routine practices. Nurses focus on excellence in patient care, therefore any technology that will change the patterns of care must overcome issues in trust and concern over the well being of the patient.
