This could be the reason that the nurse wasn't able to concentrate or provide better care to the patient. This reduces the efficacy of the treatment. The second shift nurse should assess the pain of the patient. For the relief from pain, it is important that nurse should start with the lowest dose of morphine. As the patient has already provided morphine injection of 8 mg given Intramuscularly, at present the nurse can give IV injection of morphine ranging from the dose 2mg to 10mg. But as the patient already got dose Intramuscularly, it is suggested to give lowest dose that is 2mg IV to the patient. This will provide relief to the patient.
