Prenatal education for post partum depression must include following goals.

Nursing diagnosis;

1.Knowledge deficit related to post natal care as characterised by no experience of providing care to newborn .
COGNITIVE OUTCOME-Educate the client how to take care of newborn like holding the newborn with care ,providing breast feeding ,providing wormth etc.

2.Ineffective role performance related to motherhood as characterised by unable to fulfill the needs of the newborn.
AFFECTIVE OUTCOME-Involve the mother to respond to cry ,as it may be because of hungry or any discomfort to the newborn.

3.Helplessness related to the post partum changes as characterised by weakness and tieredness.
PSYCHOMOTOR OUTCOME-Motivate the mother to participate in feeding ,changing the diaper for the newborn in regular intervals once she gets stabilised.
