Review the Solis & Guyer analysis of Moses v. Providence Hospital and Medical Centers, Inc., cited in the Review section. Is EMTALA a needed statute? Why? Does the facility’s obligation under EMTALA end when the patient leaves the emergency department?
EMTALA -The emergency medical treatment and labor act,is a federal law that suggest anyone arriving to emergency department to be stabilized and treated without considering their insurance states or their capacity to pay.Patients needs EMTALA requires hospitals to identify patients for emergency medical comditions ,everyone has care without cost.We cant always agree the argument that EMTALA ends once eith emergecy care ,and got admitted to hospital for further care.
