ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY

  • Anatomy is the branch of science that studies the structures associated with the human body.
  • Physiology is the branch of science that studies the function of each of these structures.
  • The human body is often considered as a complicated machine. For the machine to work properly it must have all of its parts and also each of these parts must function to the maximum level. If organs or organ systems are not functioning properly, then the patient is called as diseased.
  • In order to treat the patient with a disease, we must understand how the body is structured and functions when the body is healthy.
