Working more hours and shifts put the nurses at risk for short sleep duration and sleep disturbances,insufficient sleep increases the risk for reduced performance on the job, injuries,obesity,fatigue related errors,a wide range of chronic diseases which could harm the patient and others,also the sufficient sleep improves the immunity by producing cytokines it is important for work in current scenario of Covid 19, keep the good immunity by the nurses to prevent the hospital acquired infections.The nursing managers and the hospital management should consider this facts and arrange the shifts and duty timings of the nurses for the better health care delivery.
