Answer #1

Mental illness and drug abuse are two serious health issues that not only affects the individual but also have deleterious impact of the family. These problems damage the family emotionally as well as financially.
The communities in which the patient family live can help and support them by engaging the community resources. Community can provide financial help to the family through community services such as youth and adult employment services, cooperative business development, tax filing support.
Similarly providing community support through family counselling, school programmes and other support programmes will help the family to cope up with the patient's condition.
The community should engage in services that improve the health, financial strength, safety, and quality of life of the patient and families.
