Answer: The major purpose of the IOM i.e. to focus on the improvement if the health of the patients for the diverse population to their whole life. This can be achieved through the higher level of the education and training provided to the patients by improved educational system. This will elevates the quality of care provided to the people and patients.

The rules and regulation that has been implemented in the nursing practice as well as the level of the education provided to the nurse has increases the efficiency of the treatment and care provided to the patients. The IOM has elevated the status of the nurisng practice. According to the IOM the nurse should practice to their full extent and they should attain higher level of education.
