Ischaemia causes hypoxia and it is the condition ,blood flow to a tissue is so low that adequate oxygen is not delivered to it even though pO2 and oxyhemoglobin are normal and also it weakens cells without killing them. The decreased blood flow may assembled cellular metabolitis byproducts such as anerobic glycolysis,in the absence of oxygen glucose is partially broken down by a process called glycolysis into pyurvic acid. Each glucose is converted into a pyurvic acid yields two molecules of ATP.Ischemia may cause necrosis,a pathological type of cell death that results from tissue injury. In necrosis ,the cells swell ,brush and spill their cytoplasm into the interstitial fluid.and this mess of cellular debris usually stimulates ,an inflammatory response.
