1.VIRCHOW'S TRIAD : The three impotant factors in Virchow's triad are increased tendency of coagulability, any injury to the blood vessels and pooling of blood.These leads to thrombus formation.
2.DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS : A thrombus (clot) formation in venous system and embedded deep in the vessels known as Deep Vein Thrombosis.In major cases it affects the peripheral venous system.
3.PULMONARY EMBOLISM : A thrombus (clot) which travels as an emboli in the pulmonary system known as pulmonary embolism.
4.PROPHYLAXIS : Main treatment regimen focus on dissolving the abnormal clot formation.Exercise like walking can be done in early stages , use of compressible stockings in the affected area and pharmacological therapy such as anticoagulant and antiplatelet therapy.
